Health happens between visits:
Most people spend only a few minutes each year with their healthcare provider, but their health story unfolds every day. It’s shaped by how they sleep, move, recover, manage stress, respond to treatment, and navigate the challenges of daily life.
Today, much of that story is captured by wearable technology. Yet the valuable insights these devices collect often remain isolated, leaving individuals to interpret and manage the information on their own.
MD Live by Evernorth believes the best healthcare is connected, personalized, and proactive. As technology unlocks new ways for people to track key health metrics, the opportunity to connect those insights with trusted clinical care has never been greater.
That's why we’re excited to announce our new partnership with Oura.
Together, we're creating new ways for people to stay engaged with their health while giving clinicians greater visibility into what happens between visits.
By connecting health insights from Oura with physician-led, NCQA-certified virtual care, we’re helping patients and clinicians make informed decisions together.
Our partnership with Oura will initially focus on supporting patients currently taking or starting GLP-1 medications. Although millions of Americans—more than 1 in 10—use GLP-1 therapies to manage chronic health conditions and weight management, every person’s journey is different. Questions about side effects, dosage changes, lifestyle adjustments, and long-term treatment success often arise between visits, when timely support can be especially valuable. Yet those are often the moments when patients are left to navigate decisions on their own.
Beginning in early 2027, eligible MD Live members in participating employer or health plan programs may receive an Oura Ring and Oura Membership, funded by their plan sponsor, in addition to their MD Live Primary Care benefit.
With Oura's GLP-1 companion, members can log their GLP-1 doses, weight, and side effects in the Oura App and view them alongside their sleep, activity, and recovery trends. Members can choose to share relevant health information with their MD Live clinicians for added context in conversations about their care.
For employers and health plans, helping members successfully navigate GLP-1 treatment has become increasingly important. While these medications can drive meaningful health improvements for appropriate patients, many face challenges related to side effects, lifestyle changes, and ongoing support needs between appointments.
Oura gives members daily insights, and MD Live provides physician-led care. Members who choose to share their Oura information with their MD Live clinician can enrich their appointments with additional context for conversations about how they're feeling and what questions they have, helping to connect their daily experience with their care.
Rather than relying solely on what a patient recalls during a visit, clinicians can incorporate information the patient shares through the Oura Experience to support more informed conversations and personalized care. This creates a care journey that helps bridge the gap between daily health experiences and clinical care.
The benefit is clear: greater support between visits and a more connected experience throughout their GLP-1 journey. That's good for patients, who receive more personalized care, and for employers and health plans, which are increasingly focused on helping members access the support needed to achieve meaningful health outcomes.
As Dr. Ricky Bloomfield, Chief Medical Officer at Oura, says: “For people taking GLP-1 medications, questions about side effects, lifestyle changes, and how they are feeling often arise between appointments. When members choose to share relevant Oura insights with their care team, MD Live clinicians can have more context to support informed, personalized conversations. By connecting those everyday experiences with physician-led care, this partnership can help patients stay engaged in their care and work toward their health goals, while keeping clinical judgment at the center.”
While our partnership with Oura begins with GLP-1 support, it builds on the MD Live focus on making care more connected, personalized, and proactive.
People don’t stop needing support when an appointment ends. Health happens every day through the choices people make, the challenges they navigate, and their progress between visits. By helping people better understand their health and connect those insights to trusted physician-led care, we can make care more comprehensive, personalized, and centered around the whole person.
Because the future of healthcare is not just treating illness. It’s helping people stay connected to the care, support, and information they need to live healthier every day.
